LGBTQ+ ally is wagging about the teen program, Shhh-Out at DCL.

Maverick’s service as a therapy dog is offered for all teens at Dickinson County Library, and he gets an extra patch for pride.

Shanna Stanley, the volunteer who services the new teen programming offered at DCL is passionate about helping all teens, and Maverick is giving growing humans a safe space to talk in a bully-free environment.

This newly formed after school program at DCL has built a following of support after recent pushback from some community members. The library board’s democratic process ultimately chose to keep the program, which currently only runs once a month.
