I am a local reporter, but have travelled to every state except for Alaska. I have talked with people from almost everywhere and have been in a wide variety of diverse settings. I spent my twenty-first birthday in basic training at Fort Jackson, SC and have chatted with people from many of the Hawaiian and Caribbean Islands such as the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and even Guam. I have travelled internationally to Canada (I grew up on the Canadian border to Ontario… my great-grandparents built a hunting and fishing lodge in an EXTREMELY northern region of Canada, log by log….rolling them down the river), to the Dominican Republic, and to the U.S. Virgin Islands. I know how to keep a fire going throughout the night in the rainforest of the Pacific Northwest, and I did that for SIX MONTHS (while building a wilderness cabin) - before buying a home here in Iron Mountain to stay for good in the place I know in my heart is home - Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. I like meeting people from different backgrounds, connecting, and sharing stories with them.
